After they tie the knot a few things are expected to change, including Harry’s title.
However, there is already some confusion about Harry’s real name, surname and title.
People were especially left scratching their heads after the official engagement statement from Clarence House referred to Harry as “Prince Henry”.
Here we set things straight.
What is Prince Harry’s full name?
What many people do not know, is that “Harry” is the Prince’s nickname – and he is even called it by his own family.
The nickname has been used since he was a child, so it is no wonder many did not know this was not his real name.
Harry is a traditional nickname given to the name Henry.
However, his full name is Henry Charles Albert David.
His full title is currently His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales.
Officially his surname is Mountbatten-Windsor, also he tends to use part of the title, “Wales”, as a surname.
For example in military circumstances, when he has continued to use the surname Wales, and is known as Captain Harry Wales.
Mountbatten-Windsor is the surname given to all descendants of the Queen and Prince Philip.
