‘Well and truly over’ for Prince Andrew in King Charles III’s monarchy reforms – new claim

The Duke of York was rumoured to have been the Queen’s “favourite” child, but has little chance of returning to frontline royal life under King Charles III.

The Duke of York was famously rumoured to have been Elizabeth II’s “favourite” child”.

But Nick Bullen has claimed that he will not form part of “the future” of the monarchy.

The True Royalty TV co-founder told Fox News Digital: “For Prince Andrew, his life as a working royal is well and truly over.

“We won’t be seeing very much more of him in the coming weeks and months.”

Mr Bullen added: “I don’t believe that he is a part of the King’s plan for the future of the monarchy.

“The King has been very clear in saying that he wants a slimmed-down monarchy.

“He’s focusing on immediate heirs.

“Having [his grandchildren] Prince George and Princess Charlotte as part of the funeral was a very clear message – this is the future.”

The Duke of York was earlier this year stripped of his military titles and lost the use of the HRH style.

This came ahead his settlement with US accuser Virginia Giuffre over allegations which he has consistently denied.

Buckingham Palace confirmed in January: “With the Queen’s approval and agreement, the Duke of York’s military affiliations and Royal patronages have been returned to the Queen.

“The Duke of York will continue not to undertake any public duties and is defending this case as a private citizen.”

Andrew was, however, permitted to wear military uniform while standing vigil by his mother’s coffin ahead of her state funeral earlier this month.

This, reports suggest, was the result of an order from Charles himself.

But royal experts were quick to play down suggestions this could mean Andrew was set to return to a more significant position in the Royal Family.

It has also long been suggested that the monarchy of Charles III would be more “slimmed-down” than that which preceded his reign.

Express.co.uk has approached Buckingham Palace for comment.
