It’s been twenty years since Princess Diana tragically died in a car crash in Paris on 31 August 1997.
While her presence has been greatly missed by the world as well as sons Prince William and Prince Harry, there are certain ways their late mother has influenced their lives and her legacy has lived on, most notably through their charity work.
She’s also influenced her children through a series of other subtle, sentimental traditions…
Jewellery
Prince William has passed on Diana’s gold cartier watch to Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, and when he proposed Harry made a huge sacrifice, gifting him their mother’s engagement ring.
Clothing
Royal fanatics have picked up on the outfits the Duchess Of Cambridge has opted for that resembles some of Princess Diana’s most memorable looks.
And Prince William and Kate have favoured Diana’s taste with their choice of clothes for their kids too, with Prince George and William both wearing very similar clothing when little.

Where they live
After splitting from Charles, Diana continued to live in Kensington Palace.
It is now Kate and Wills’ family home, and occasionally the public are treated to a rare glance inside.
Photography
Mario Testino took some of Diana’s most memorable photos.
Both Harry and William have also opted to use the photographer, for example at Princess Charlotte’s christening.

Their decorators
Princess Diana opted to use decorating firm Dragon’s of Walton Street to design William’s nursery.
It was a choice that Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton and William chose to replicate – using the same decorator for Prince George’s first room.
