Queen’s grandson takes a spin: Prince Edward and Sophie’s 10-year-old son spotted DRIVING
The Queen’s grandson James, Viscount Severn ended his Easter Weekend in style as he was spotted behind the wheel of the family’s Land Rover at Windsor Castle. Prince Edward and Sophie Countess of Wessex’s 10-year-old son drove around the private gardens while his old sister, Lady Louise Windsor, laughed with her mother as she drove a carriage.
It comes just a day after James was spotted looking visibly upset as he joined other members of the Royal Family for Sunday’s Easter service.
But the Queen’s youngest grandchild appeared in good spirits as he sat on an adult’s lap to drive the 4×4.
James and his family spent the morning enjoying the outdoors with Prince Edward spotted riding a horse.
Under the law, drivers do not need a provisional licence to drive a car on private land.
But insurance companies would refuse to pay out in the event of an accident.
James drove “reasonably fast” while taking the car for a spin in the grounds of Windsor Castle, according to the Mail Online.
Prince Edward, the Countess of Wessex and their two children Lady Louise Windsor, 14, and James, Viscount Severn, 10, attended the Easter service along with Andrew and his daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who was accompanied by fiance Jack Brooksbank.
William and Kate, who is due to give birth to her third child later this month, got to St George’s Chapel after the rest of the Royal Family had gone in with the 91-year-old Queen.
Zara Tindall, who is expecting her second child some time after Kate, walked down the hill from the Castle’s upper ward with Prince Andrew.
There was no sign then of her husband, Mike Tindall, or their four-year-old daughter Mia.
Meanwhile, the Duke of Edinburgh, who has been struggling with a hip problem, missed the service at the chapel where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will marry next month.
