The Queen breaks down during London service
This is heartbreaking
Every year, for six decades, Queen Elizabeth II leads Britain’s annual Remembrance Sunday. This year however, Prince Charles has taken over the role.
His mother, the 91-year-old queen, dressed in black, watched the service at London’s Cenotaph memorial from a nearby balcony alongside her 96-year-old husband Prince Philip.
After the 65 years on the throne, the monarch are slowly cutting back on public duties. The Queen asked her 68-year-old son to lay a wreath of poppies on her behalf. She was very affected by the service. At one point she was seen wiping tears from her eyes.
Prince William, Prince Harry and other royals also left bright red wreaths at the foot of the monument.
