The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Sussex have formed a close bond since Meghan married Prince Harry in Windsor in May. Charles opened the doors of Clarence House in November for the public to view his personal collection of family photographs and priceless art in collaboration with Google Street View. But now, a touching new addition has been added to the Morning Room of Clarence House – a joyful black and white photograph of Charles walking his daughter in law down the aisle of St George’s Chapel, Windsor.

The Morning Room is used by Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, to welcome visitors to their beloved London residence – including King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of Holland most recently in November.

The gorgeous photo shows the 70-year-old heir apparent smiling broadly at Meghan – the moment before he gave away the bride to his proud son, Prince Harry.

The framed photo takes pride of place in the Morning Room, which also features personal photos such as The Queen Mother above the door, presiding over the room and its guests.

Daily Mail royal correspondent Rebecca English, who spotted the photograph during a visit to Clarence House on Sunday, shared the image on Twitter.

She tweeted: “At Clarence House today I spotted a framed black and white photograph (in the public area) of the Prince of Wales walking his soon to be daughter-in-law, Meghan Markle, towards the altar at St George’s Chapel.

“It was very touching – and shows how much the moment meant to him.”

Prince Charles stepped in at the last minute to walk Meghan down the aisle of St George’s chapel after her father Thomas Markle pulled out of the ceremony following heart surgery just days before.

But as part of a documentary to mark Charles’ 70th birthday in November, Harry said of the moment: “I asked him to and I think he knew it was coming and he immediately said ‘Yes, of course, I’ll do whatever Meghan needs, and I’m here to support you’.

“For him that’s a fantastic opportunity to step up and be that support, and you know he’s our father so of course he’s going to be there for us.

“I was very grateful for him to be able to do that.”

Since walking Meghan down the aisle, the future King of England has held a fond affection for the Duchess.

Their relationship has kept flying high ever since the marriage, a person near the family said, claiming Prince Charles is now “completely taken” with Meghan after she joind the royal family.

The arrival of the former actress in the family is also said to have tightened the links between Charles and his youngest son.
