Mike Tindall shows off much straighter nose in new look video ahead of royal wedding
MIKE TINDALL’S nose looks virtually unrecognisable in recent photos, prompting some to speculate that the former rugby player, who is married to Zara Tindall, has invested in a new nose. Mike has previously hinted in interviews that he may one day have a nose job.
Mike Tindall, 39, showed off a much straighter nose in a new video released today, causing many to speculate he had invested in a new nose.
The former rugby player, who is the husband of Zara Tindall, 36, a British equestrian and the only daughter of Anne, Princess Royal, and Captain Mark Philips, looked virtually unrecognisable from before.
His nose was previously bent dramatically towards the left side of his face, after a reported eight breaks.
In the video, which sees Mike taking part in the Wolf Run challenge, his nose appears smaller and the bridge is almost perfectly straight.
The new look is so noticeable that some have speculated whether the sports player has had a nose job ahead of the royal wedding of Meghan Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 33.
While Mike’s rugby career left him at a constant risk of getting his nose broken again, he retired in 2013, removing the risk element.
Mike first broke his nose when he was five years old after an accident in a dodgem car.
He has hinted on a number of occasion that he might one day correct his bent nose.
In a conversation with panellists on television quiz show A League Of Their Own about nose jobs, Mike said: “Princess Anne asked me if I’d have the surgery.”
He was referring to his mother in law Anne, Princess Royal, who reportedly offered to pay for her son-in-law’s nose job ahead of his wedding to Zara Phillips in 2011.
He discussed the possibility of a nose job in 2014, in an interview with the Daily Mirror.
Referring to his issues with his nose, he said: “I guess it’s something similar to a pug.
“The problem is that if I get it done, will people say I’ve had it just because I’m doing TV stuff now? Because it’s definitely not.”
Mike’s wife, Zara, is currently pregnant with her second child – but will Meghan Markle and Prince Harry be godparents to Zara Phillips’ child?
“It is entirely possible that the Tindalls will ask Zara’s cousin Prince Harry (or even his bride-to-be) to be a godparent,” said Michael Cole, royal expert and former BBC Court Correspondent.
He added: “Prince Harry is as down to earth as his cousin and her husband who, of course, he admired as a rugby player.”
How many godparents should a child have?
Working in Harry and Meghan’s favour is a royal custom for children to have more godparents than most people.
Michael explains: “Members of the Royal Family do not stick to the limit of three that most ordinary people are content with.
“It is customary for royal or royal-ish babies to have half a dozen or more godparents.”
According to Michael, it is also fortuitous that Meghan, 36, is the same age as Zara Phillips.
“It is usual, but by no means universal, that parents tend to choose people of around their own age as godparents,” says Michael.
