The BBC series was covering the Queen’s Young Leaders Awards ceremony, which was the culmination of a week’s celebration for the many winners of the prestigious accolade.

Baker and Alex Jones initially interviewed Prince Harry and two winners: Alex Holmes who created the Anti-Bullying Campaign, and Rianna Patterson, who launched the Dominica Dementia Foundation, as Harry enthusiastically praised the work they were doing to affect change.

But presumably as the hosts couldn’t follow through into the room with the other winners later in the show, they handed over the questioning to the popular Prince who took it in his stride.

“How’s things guys? Amazing week? What have you been up to since I last saw you?” Harry asked three female winners.

While the responses were unanimously positive, the Prince chuckled when one of the women told him they’d found the awards ceremony had been the best part of their week-long trip to the UK.

“That’s a good thing you’ve said that,” he said hastily.

As the mental health campaigner continued to build an easy rapport with his interviewees, many viewers took to Twitter to praise him.

“I think @KensingtonRoyal #PrinceHarry is a natural interviewer on #TheOneShow,” one person posted, while another agreed: “I love how prince Harry talks to people…. he seems to ask such great questions and seems genuinely interested in other people.”

Now you’ve got to start inspiring everybody else, a whole younger generation

Even the BBC themselves tweeted their support of the Prince, saying: “Thank you #PrinceHarry for working the room at the @QueensLeaders event for #theoneshow – yes @MissAlexjones he should present with you!”

Another person fuelled fears that Baker’s job was on the line when they posted: “I think Prince Harry could have a job on #TheOneShow he’s doing a great job interviewing!!”

Harry finished his moment as a presenter with some inspirational words for his interviewees, when he said: “Now you’ve got to start inspiring everybody else, a whole younger generation. We’ve got a billion people under the age of 30 in the Commonwealth to choose from, let’s start inspiring them. Yeah?

“Guys well done. You’ve been amazing, fantastic,” he added.
