Britain’s Got Talent 2017: Prince Harry admits Queen’s an avid viewer, past winner reveals

BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT winner Richard Jones exclusively revealed that the Queen watched his winning performance during last year’s finals of the ITV show.

Speaking exclusively to Express co uk, the magician revealed his pride at performing for the Royals in both a magic and military capacity.

He explained: “I’ve performed for the Royal family loads of times with my role in the army, but the Royal Variety was the first time doing it with magic.

“I did see Prince Harry a few weeks after the final and he said he watched the semi-final when I was performing. He said he watched the final on YouTube because he missed it. He said he loved it, so that’s good!”

Richard, 26, then revealed that he was told by the Prince that his winning performance was watched by the Queen.

He beamed: “He did say the Queen watched it as well, but I’m not sure if he was trying to make me feel better.

“I don’t know whether the Queen really watches TV but he did mention that she enjoyed it, so I hope that’s true,” Richard added.

Since winning Britain’s Got Talent last year, pipping crooner Wayne Woodward to the top spot, he has remained as a serving soldier in the British Army but still dips into magic.

He will launch his new show, Operation Magic, tonight and it will see him delve into parts of the army never before seen in the media to perform incredible tricks for his serving colleagues.

Speaking of Operation Magic, Richard said: “The army has given us access to really cool parts of the army that no one, especially the media, is really allowed to access.

“We go to the Chelsea pensioners and do some magic there but we also go to training barracks where people go to learn and it’s really fast paced and there’s always a lot going on there, so I went along to to surprise the troops.

“They’d been in the forest for about five days doing army training in a war scenario and they were all exhausted so then I show up out of nowhere and perform some magic for them.

“It was probably the last thing they were expecting to see!” Richard joked.
