Sarah Ferguson said Diana would’ve told Meghan: ‘You’re doing so well’

SARAH FERGUSON claimed Princess Diana would have been “so proud” of Meghan Markle for marrying into the Royal Family.

The Duchess, otherwise known as “Fergie”, said: “Even before they got married, Diana would have been just literally going ‘I can’t believe these boys have done so well,’.

“They are such a credit to her. Incredible.”

Fergie also suspected Diana would have been quite fond of her daughters-in-law.

She added: “She had this enormous compassion, and I honestly think she’d be so proud of the wonderful Meghan and Catherine, as well.

“She’d want to embrace them and say, ‘You’re doing well.'”

Less than two years later, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a huge decision, as they announced their intentions to step back as senior members of the Royal Family.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle eventually relocated from their temporary Vancouver Island residence to Los Angeles as they began their new post-royal lives.

The decision to step down came after months of speculation the Duchess could not settle into royal life.

In a documentary filmed throughout her 10-day tour of Africa with Harry in October, Meghan herself admitted that the media scrutiny “on top of trying to be a new mum or trying to be a newlywed” was really challenging.

Moreover, in an interview with Oprah at the beginning of March, she and Harry laid bare their anger at the alleged treatment by the Royal Family.

Harry also opened up about what his mother would think about his exit from royal life.

He said: “I think she would feel very angry with how this has panned out and very sad, but ultimately, all she’d ever want is for us to be happy.

“I brought what my mom left me.

“And without that, we would not have been able to do this, so touching back on what my mother would think of this, I think she saw it coming. I certainly felt her presence throughout this whole process.”

He also compared Meghan’s plight with that of his late mother’s.

He added: “You know, for me, I’m just really relieved and happy to be sitting here, talking to you with my wife by my side because I can’t begin to imagine what it must’ve been like for [my mother] going through this process by herself all those years ago.

“My biggest concern was history repeating itself.”

During the interview, the Duchess of Sussex wore a bracelet that previously belonged to Princess Diana — the same bracelet that was used to help craft Meghan’s engagement ring.

When designing her ring, Harry took two diamonds from his late mother’s bracelet to include in Meghan’s three-stone ring.

The couple reportedly wanted Meghan, who is expecting her second child, to wear the bracelet during the interview so Diana could be with them.
