Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew look close in the official Royal Wedding picture
Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew looked incredibly close in newly released official photographs by Buckingham Palace of Princess Eugenie’s Royal Wedding.
The divorced couple’s daughter married wine merchant Jack Brooksbank in St. George’s Chapel in Windsor on Friday in front of a large gathering of family and friends.
After the official ceremony, the adoring couple took photos with their bridesmaids and page boys and with members of their immediate family.
Fergie and Prince Andrew divorced in 1996 but they could not have looked happier as they stood next to one another in the newly released official wedding pictures.
The group photograph, taken in the White Drawing Room at Windsor, shows both bride proud families.
The pair, who have previously described themselves as “the world’s happiest divorced couple”, shared a moment of parental joy as they beamed for the camera following their youngest daughter’s nuptials.
It was one of four officials released by the Palace.
An intimate picture of the bride and groom sharing a kiss in their horse-drawn carriage, a photo with their bridesmaids and page boys, and an image of the happy couple gleaming with delight were also made available to the public.
The pictures were captured by British fashion and portrait photographer Alex Bramall, who said snapping the Royal couple on their wedding day was an “an honour and a privilege”.
Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew’s decision to stand shoulder to shoulder with one another showed they are closer than ever.
The Duke and Duchess of York have always remained friendly despite divorcing over 20 years ago and in the build up to Friday’s Royal Wedding they were caught enjoying each others’ company.
The Duke and Duchess were pictured out horse riding with their eldest daughter, Princess Beatrice just days before Friday’s celebration.
The family borrowed three of the Queen’s horses to spend a relaxing hour trotting around the Windsor Castle estate last Sunday.
“Planning for the wedding has brought Andrew and Sarah closer together and made them realise how important their family is to them” a close friend said.
“They have loved being involved, making sure Eugenie and Jack have a great day and they have spent a lot of time in each other’s company.
“You can see the spark is still there between them – they share the same sense of humour, the same sense of fun and both adore their daughters and Jack.”
