SAMANTHA Markle has retracted her Christmas card to Meghan Markle, branding her half-sister “heartless”.
Ms Markle lashed out at the Duchess of Sussex in a series of tweets on Christmas Day. The attack comes after the 54-year-old revealed she had sent Meghan a Christmas card, urging her to end the long-running rift with her father Thomas Markle.
Ms Markle criticised Meghan for her treatment of Mr Markle in the Twitter rant.
Meghan’s half-sister said: “I’ve never seen anyone so rude and hurtful and heartless and absent a soul in my life. #MeghanMarkle #SamanthaMarkle shame on you for what you have done to our father. No PR machine can fix this.
“I retract the merry Christmas, you don’t deserve it. How dare you walk into a church.”
In a later tweet, Samantha added: “Forgiven, reunite, and have the #Christmas spirit #Markle #KensingtonPalace and a peaceful heart? Apparently you’re not capable and I don’t know enough profane words to articulate how I feel. Wow.”
Days earlier, Meghan’s outspoken half-sister pleaded with the US-born former actress to contact her father over the festive period in an emotional Christmas card.
Samantha wrote: “The holidays are a time for family and are sentimental.
“As you know, Dad has been trying to contact you and is very hurt because you are avoiding him.
“Life is short and you know Dad is wonderful. Please give him joy in his last years by showing you love him. The time is now. Please think about this.”
Meghan and her father have been embroiled in a very public family row since the royal wedding in May.
Mr Markle did not attend the big day due to health reasons and it emerged shortly before that he had staged paparazzi photos in a bid to improve his public image.
Earlier this month, the 74-year-old appealed to Meghan to get back in touch after months of silence on Good Morning Britain.
The retired lighting director, who lives in Mexico, said he had been “ghosted” by his daughter following the royal wedding fallout.
Mr Markle said: “I love my daughter very much and she has to know that.
“I would really appreciate if she would just call me, reach out to me somehow, send me a text, just say you’re there and you’re hearing me.”
Meghan – who is expecting her first child with Prince Harry in the spring – spent Christmas Day with the royal family in Sandringham, Norfolk.
The 37-year-old showed off her blossoming baby bump as she attended the royals’ traditional Christmas morning church service.
Meghan put on a friendly display with the Duchess of Cambridge for the festive outing, following months of rumours of tensions between Harry and Prince William’s wives.
