Ryan-Mark Parsons has hit out at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to use the title of “Princess” for Lilibet as part of their one-year-old daughter’s christening announcement. A spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex later clarified the titles were their children’s “birthright” and the Royal Family’s official website showing the line of succession was later updated.

Ryan-Mark, who appeared on The Apprentice in 2019, shared his thoughts on the debate over royal titles.

The use of prince and princess has sparked controversy with some critics calling it “hypocrisy”.

Ryan-Mark has suggested had he been in Prince Harry’s position, following the duke’s claims directed at the Royal Family and the institution, he would not want either of his children to have titles “bestowed” on them.

“It’s this vast hypocrisy with them,” he remarked. “I just feel you can criticise the Royal Family to Oprah Winfrey or in your book or in your Netflix documentary.”

He continued: “You can mock the traditions of the Royal Family and criticise it as much as you can. Then you’re happy for your children to bestow these titles and therefore be affiliated with the Royal Family.

“Just choose, be fair and have some integrity.”

The GB News commentator suggested it “lacks authenticity” as he claimed they should willingly give up their royal titles.

“If I were [Harry] and I detested the royals I would do my best to distance myself from the Royal Family,” he commented.

“I would give up the Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles and not give my children any royal titles. They’re not doing that. To me, it lacks authenticity.”

He went on: “It’s all very grandiose and it gets them publicity. That gets Meghan [Markle] on the cover of Vanity Fair and both of them on Time magazine.

“I just think this is all a money-making machine which leads to more money. That’s what it is.”

“This matter has been settled for some time in alignment with Buckingham Palace.”

It has since been reported King Charles could prevent Archie from inheriting Prince Harry’s Duke of Sussex title.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not yet confirmed whether they will attend King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla’s coronation in May.

Elsewhere, the TV star recently took part in a reality series where he immersed himself in the Welsh culture.

The Mwy na Daffs a Taffs series, which has been available to stream since March 2, includes The Apprentice competitor Ryan-Mark, The Only Way is Essex star Gemma Collins, and last year’s runner-up of ITV’s Love Island, Luca Bish.

Speaking about the show, Ryan-Mark said: “I literally had no idea what I was going to do but when I got to Wales they said you are going on a farm.”

He added it was a complete “culture shock” as a “born and bred Londoner” as the on-screen star got to work herding sheep on a Welsh Farm.
