Royal wedding: Will Meghan Markle do her own makeup like Kate Middleton?
The Royal wedding 2018 will see Meghan Markle marry Prince Harry in front of tens of millions of people watching from around the world. But will the bride-to-be copy future sister-in-law Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge and do her own make-up on the big day?
The countdown to the Royal Wedding 2018 is on and final preparations are underway for Meghan and Harry.
It has been announced that the official photographer for the wedding will be former Mario Testino assistant Alexi Lubomirski.
He captured the couple in a series of romantic shots released for their engagement, including an intimate black and white portrait of the couple.
With Meghan set to be the centre of attention on May 19, all eyes will be on whether she opts for professional make-up assistance or not.
Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge famously insisted on doing own makeup, shunning the expertise of professionals.
Will Meghan Markle do her own make-up like Kate Middleton?
Top celebrity beautician Lesley Reynolds said the answer is “definitely not”.
The Harley Street Skin founder told Express.co.uk: “I think she would have her own team over from the US to ensure she looks her best on the big day.
Meghan is likely to favour a “natural, but polished and sophisticated look” Ms Reynolds said, focusing on her eyes and full lips which are her best features.
She added: “Meghan does not appear to be a fan of eyeshadow but uses precise eye make-up.
“She may use an eyeliner pencil and several layers of a good quality performance mascara such as Dior or Lancome.”
Award-winning make-up artist Stacey Whittaker agreed that Meghan is likely to use the services of a professional makeup artist because she is “so glamorous”.
The beauty expert said although brides who apply their own makeup know better than anyone else how they want to look, they can get it wrong.
She said: “A professional will be able to accentuate your best features and create that flawless look without the makeup appearing too heavy or cakey.
“It is also more likely that your makeup will last longer throughout the day and into the night when applied by a professional and be less stressful for the bride.”
Meghan may want to avoid beauty mistakes made by Kate, who has been criticised in the past for wearing heavy eyeliner and mascara.
The former Suits star is said to be a fan of Charlotte Tilbury products and Chanel’s Sublimate range.
She may also opt for YSL Touche Eclat, touted as the ideal choice for blemishes or dark shadows.
Ms Whittaker added that Meghan is likely to choose a lightweight foundation, such as Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, to keep her skin looking luminous.
