THE BRIDESMAIDS and page boys at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stole the show on Saturday at Windsor Castle. Here’s a look back at the royal bridal parties of the past including the wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William and Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.
Meghan Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 33, tied the knot on Saturday with a bridal party made up of ten children under the age of seven.
Prince Harry’s niece and nephew, Princess Charlotte, three, and Prince George, four, had starring roles at the wedding as bridesmaid and page boy.
The young royals joined eight of the bride and groom’s godchildren and children of their close friends.
Prince George was a page boy with Harry’s godson Jasper Dyer, six, and the children of Meghan’s best friend Jessica Mulroney, Brian and John aged seven. The twins stole the show on the big day wearing mini Blues and Royals frockcoats, like the groom, and carrying Meghan’s five meter long veil down the aisle.
Princess Charlotte joined Harry’s goddaughters Florence van Cutsem, three, and Zalie Warren, two. Also in the bridal party were Meghan’s goddaughters Ryan Litt, seven, and her sister Remi, six, plus Jessica Mulroney’s daughter Ivy, aged four.
Florence is the daughter of Prince’s Harry’s childhood friend Nicholas van Cutsem and his wife Alice. Her older cousin Grace was one of Kate Middleton’s bridesmaids back in 2011.
Grace stole the show on the balcony of Buckingham Palace when she was pictured covering her ears as the couple shared a sweet kiss.
