Royal wedding 2018: What channel is the royal wedding in on? How to watch on TV

THE royal wedding countdown is well underway with less than three weeks before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tie the knot. Here is everything you need to know about watching the royal nuptials live on TV.

When is the royal wedding 2018?
Prince Harry will marry his actress fiancée on Saturday May 19 at precisely midday at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

At 1pm, the newlyweds will set off in a royal carriage through Windsor on a royal procession of the town.

The gilded carriage will leave Castle Hill, ride through Windsor and then pull a u-turn through the scenic Long Walk all the way back to St George’s Hall by Windsor Castle.

What TV channel is the royal wedding on?
A whole range of royal wedding-themed programmes will take over ITV next month as the nation counts down until the royal wedding on Saturday.

On the day, presenters Julie Etchingham and Phillip Schofield will be at the forefront of the coverage, broadcasting live from a specially crafted TV studio in Windsor.

“Harry and Meghan – The Royal Wedding” will be live on air starting at 9.25am until 3pm in the afternoon.

Ms Etchingham said: “I’m delighted to be working on the royal wedding – and teaming up again with Philip, just as we did in 2011 and for the Diamond Jubilee.

“It’ll be a day of big celebrations not only in Windsor but around the country – and it’ll be huge fun capturing the spirit of a great British occasion.”

Her co-host added: “Put your hat on, we’re going to have a party.”

Meanwhile inside of St George’s Chapel, where the couple will exchange their vows, James Mates will be on hand to lead the live commentary of the service.

An extended late night bulletin will air later in the evening on ITV3 for a special hour-long highlight reel of the wedding.

Rageh Omaar will also broadcast live from Sentebale, the charity co-founded by Prince Harry, in Lesotho.
