The Royal Watcher got EXTREMELY ANGRY when BBC Newsreader read Kensington Palace Announcement about Catherine Duchess of Cambridge
Fury at ‘UNPROFESSIONAL’ BBC newsreader who mocked Duchess of Cambridge’s due date
BBC newsreader Simon McCoy was hit by severe backlash on social media after he mocked the Duchess of Cambridge’s due date announcement on live television.
The BBC newsreader looked completely disinterested as he poked fun at the ‘news’ from Kensington Palace and jokingly told viewers to “clear their diaries”.
He said: “Now, bearing in mind they announced that she was pregnant back in September and it was thought she was two or three months pregnant, I’m not sure how much news this really is. But anyway it’s April, so clear your diaries, get the time booked off because that’s what I’m doing.”
Viewers did not appreciate Mr McCoy’s sarcastic take on the announcement, blasting him on Twitter for his “unprofessional” behaviour.
One user said: “Wit or nitwit. He needs to be more professional. If Princess Diana were still alive she would be mortified at his coldness for the birth.”
The same user added: “He should be fired for showing total disdain. The Royal family help pay his salary. I sorta can’t wait for tomorrow and the j*** is fired.”
Another social media user said: “Show some b****y respect, that baby will do more for the United Kingdom than Simon could do with his wee toe. B****y commoners – no respect.”
One more called out McCoy for his lack of respect toward the Royal family, saying: “Bit disrespectful. You’re there to read the news, not give your personal comment on it.”
The surprise announcement of Kate’s pregnancy was made last month when she had to pull out of an official engagement due to extreme morning sickness.
She has been suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum but royal sources say the symptoms have eased in recent weeks.
Kensington Palace said William and Kate were “delighted” to confirm the month their third child is due to be born.
It is understood that even if she is feeling much better by the time William goes to Finland next month, she has ruled out joining him there.
The BBC has refused to comment.
