Royal baby news update: Who will be Prince Louis’ godparents? Latest odds
PRINCE Louis Arthur Charles was finally named on Friday, amid huge speculation over the choice of name. Now, attention turns to the important role of godparents, so who could be given the honour?
The latest odds have put Prince William’s soon-to-be former private secretary Miguel Head and his childhood nanny Tiggy Legge-Bourke as the favourites to be Prince Louis’ godparents.
The two frontrunners currently have odds of 2/1, according to Ladbrokes.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “As with George and Charlotte, the Duke and Duchess chose close and trusted friends and aides, rather than immediate family members, and the odds suggest that will be the same with little Prince Louis.”
The new prince is fifth in line the crown, after his grandfather Prince Charles, dad Prince William and his older siblings George and Charlotte.
Who is Miguel Head?
Miguel Head is Prince William’s longstanding private secretary and has been part of the royal household for more than 10 years.
The role of private secretary to the Duke is the most senior appointment in the Cambridge household.
In March this year, Kensington Palace announced Mr Head would be leaving his role, after joining the Royal Family in 2008 as press secretary to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.
A spokesman for the Duke of Cambridge said: “His Royal Highness feels incredibly lucky to have benefited from Miguel’s advice and support over the last decade.”
He will be leaving the role in July and will be replaced by senior civil servant Simon Case.

Who is Tiggy Legge-Bourke?
Tiggy Legge-Bourke was the personal assistant to Prince Charles and nanny to Prince William.
After Prince Charles and Diana separated, the Prince of Wales hired Tiggy as nanny to their two sons.
She became incredibly close to the young royal and reportedly referred to them as “my babies.”
Tiggy comforted the two boys following their mother’s sudden death in August 1997.

There are odds of 3/1 Prince William’s step-sister Laura Lopes will take on the royal duty – she is the daughter of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
And there is a 3/1 chance Kate will choose Rebecca Priestley – the Duchess’ former private secretary – as godparent to the new-born, she was previously at odds of 6/1.
Friends of the couple, David Jardine-Patterson (5/1) and Hugh van Cutsem JR (5/1) follow close behind.
Sisters of Princess Diana, Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale along with former Welsh Guards officer Captain Mark Dyer are all at odds of 6/1.
Princess Beatrice and Eugenie are lower down in the list at odds of 7/1.
