REVEALED: How the Royal Family could help BOOST Brexit Britain and secure trade deals

THE ROYAL Family could play a vital role in helping Brexit Britain sign new trade deals and maintain good relations with other countries according to Victoria Arbiter, a leading Royal author and commentator, who explains “everybody knows the British Royals”.

Ms Arbiter, author of “Queen Elizabeth II: pocket giants”, outlined the argument during an interview with Express.co.uk.

Asked whether American born Meghan Markle could strengthen US/UK relations she replied: “Yes definitely, particularly with Brexit on the horizon.

“Nobody nurtures positive relationships abroad better than popular members of the Royal Family.”

After Brexit the Government is hoping to sign new trade deals with countries across the world, including the US.
During his visit to the UK in July, President Trump told journalists a US-UK trade deal “will absolutely be possible”.

International Trade Secretary Liam Fox told the BBC earlier this week the President is “very keen” on such a deal.

However, Mrs Arbiter is clear that the Royal family’s appeal extends far beyond America.

She commented: “The British Government, the Foreign Office, they like to send key Royals out because it does keep relations.
“William and Kate went on a bit of a European diplomacy trip last year where they hit up several European cities.

“At the end of the day the British Royal Family is the Government’s diplomacy secret weapon.

“Nobody nurtures positive relationships abroad better than popular members of the Royal Family”.

A number of countries are understood to be interested in a trade deal with the UK following Brexit.

In July, during a visit to China, Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt claimed his Chinese counterpart had offered “to open discussions about a possible free trade deal between Britain and China post-Brexit”.

Later in August, Theresa May announced the UK had agreed outlines to its first “post-Brexit trade deal” with six African countries.

Ms Arbiter was clear that the Royal Family’s requirement to be politically neutral would not stop them aiding Britain diplomatically.

She said: “The Royals obviously are politically neutral, they can’t get involved in Brexit, they can’t discuss Brexit.
“What they can do is maintain positive relationships between Britain and the host country they are visiting.

“I think a lot of people couldn’t name three Swedish royals or Danish royals, but everybody knows the British royals and when they show up somewhere there’s a sense of good will.”

As well as her writing, Ms Arbiter has provided Royal commentary for both UK and US television.
