Royal commentator Andrew Pierce has insisted Prince Andrew is “away with the fairies” if he believes he will return to royal work any time soon. While speaking on Palace Confidential, Mr Pierce said the Queen would not allow him to return while he deals with a civil rape allegation from Virginia Giuffre. Ms Giuffre is alleging that Prince Andrew abused her when she was 17, a claim that Andrew has vehemently denied
The Duke of York has also insisted he has never had any contact with Ms Giuffre.
Mr Pierce said: “There is also this extraordinary story around that Prince Andrew thinks he will be back doing public duties again on behalf of Queen and country as early as next year.
“Away with the fairies, there is not a chance of it.
“Not a chance while the civil court hearings are hanging over him and not before he has talked to the FBI.

A source close to the royal explained Prince Andrew’s hopes of returning to royal work.
The source last week told the Mirror: “It is clear he (Andrew) has a clear and burning desire to return to work as soon as possible.
