Queen has a giggle with Prince Charles and Anne in family day out at Braemar Gathering
THE QUEEN has arrived at the Braemar Gathering with Prince Charles and Princess Anne.

The trio were photographed sharing a joke as they sat down together for the event at the Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park in Braemar.
The Queen looked smart in a blue outfit for the occasion.
She smiled as she sat between Prince Charles and Princess Anne.
Prince Charles opted for a traditional kilt for the outing, while Princess Anne wore a dark-coloured coat and and hat.

The Queen held a small bunch of flowers as Prince Charles looked through a booklet.
The Queen is a patron of the Braemar Gathering, which takes place every year on the first Saturday in September.
It is organised by the Braemar Royal Highland Society.
Visitors at the Braemar Gathering can watch competitions in events such as the tug of war and hammer throwing.

There are also performances from pipe bands and Highland dancers.
The monarch and members of the royal family have regularly attended the event since Queen Victoria visited in 1848.
The Braemar Gathering is not far from the Balmoral estate in Aberdeenshire where the Queen is taking her annual summer holiday.
