Princess in training: Meghan packs in FIVE engagements in SIX DAYS
Meghan Markle will be getting married in little over a month but Prince Harry’s bride is already embracing the royal life with five engagements in just six days.
It has been suggested the busy schedule could part of Royal Family’s charm offensive as heads from Commonwealth nations are in London for a meeting this week.
Meghan will join Harry for more official Commonwealth duties on behalf of the Queen with a Women’s Empowerment reception at the Royal Aeronautical Society on Thursday.
The reception hosted by Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson follows on from the Commonwealth engagements Meghan attended today with Harry where the Prince joke with delegates about the former US actresses Americanisms.
On Saturday Meghan will also attend a reception celebrating Sydney’s hosting of Invictus Games at the Australian High Commission.
The reception will be hosted by Australia’s Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, who currently visiting the UK for the Heads of Commonwealth Meeting.
Then on Monday, Meghan will join Harry for the 25th Anniversary Memorial Service to celebrate the life and legacy of Stephen Lawrence.
Harry’s bride-to-be will accompany the ginger royal as he reads a message of support on behalf of his father The Prince of Wales.
And today Kensington Palace announced Meghan will attend several events commemorating Anzac Day next Wednesday with Harry.
Organised by the New Zealand and Australian high commissions Meghan and Harry and will attend the Dawn Service at Wellington Arch near Hyde Park Corner and the Service of Commemoration at Westminster Abbey.
The dawn service is an Anzac (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) tradition commemorating those who served in the World War 1 and 2 as well as other conflicts.
The 5am service is open to the public, but those wishing to attend are advised to arrive before 4am as the event fills up quickly.
Meghan will then attend the Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey at midday.
Meghan is indeed planning to take her activism around the Commonwealth with Harry
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk: “Meghan is indeed planning to take her activism around the Commonwealth with Harry as part of the Royal Foundation after the wedding.
“The fact she is biracial will have enormous appeal to many in the Commonwealth who have previously viewed the Royal Family as remote.
“The royals are used for ‘soft power’ very effectively in visits abroad, this would certainly apply to the Commonwealth as it does to Europe, to promote goodwill during and (assuming it happens) after Brexit.”
