Princess Eugenie’s SWANKY two-day wedding ‘to cost £2.7 MILLION’ claims wedding expert
PRINCESS Eugenie’s wedding to her long-term boyfriend Jack Brooksbank is expected to cost an enormous £2.7 million with particular expense expected to be spent on entertainment and security costs, a wedding expert has claimed.
The Queen’s granddaughter, aged 28, will tie the knot on Friday October 12 at St George’s Chapel before a black tie evening reception at Royal Lodge.
The founder of a wedding planning app has claimed the royal wedding, which will be attended by around 500 guests, could cost around £2.7 million with taxpayers expected to be paying for the hefty security costs.
Hamish Shephard, founder of Bridebook.co.uk, analysed thousands of weddings to reach the figure.
He said security will cost £2 million, floristry £100,000, music £25,000 and the dress £200,000.
There will be a festival and funfair themed party day after the wedding
Mr Shephard believes Stella McCartney, who designed Meghan Markle’s wedding gown, is likely to also be behind Princess Eugenie’s dress.
Like Prince Harry and Meghan, Princess Eugenie will marry at St George’s Chapel before having her party in the Windsor grounds.
There will be a festival and funfair themed party day after the wedding.
Mr Shephard told Mail Online: “After Meghan and Harry’s wedding was the most viewed wedding in history, a second royal wedding at Windsor is certainly going to attract another global audience.”
This may be the reason why the security will come with the heftiest price tag of £2 million, which will cover everything from sniper coverage to the latest anti-drone technology.
Mr Shephard added: “With Eugenie and Jack both attendees at Harry and Meghan’s wedding at Windsor Castle earlier in the year, they will certainly want to differentiate their day to celebrate their individuality and have their personalities demonstrated throughout the wedding details.
“After Meghan broke tradition by walking herself down the aisle, and by having a gospel choir and her now infamous preacher, Eugenie will be delighted to have the freedom to do exactly what she wants.
“Whilst Meghan and Harry’s wedding was an international spectacular, Eugenie and Jack will be having a more homely occasion celebrating the best of Britain, but with an equally star studded guest list.”
The wedding is expected to have a host of music and entertainment coming in with a price tag of up to £55,000 and to include trumpets, bell ringers, organists, choirs, DJs and live bands.
When Princess Eugenie gave an interview to British Vogue, she said that the wedding dress was the one thing that she had been “really decisive” about.
