Princess Diana INSANELY Luxurious Handbags!

There is no doubt that Princess Diana’s handbags were the best of the best, she is a Royal after all.
All of her handbags looked stunning, and the handbags she wore were all luxury and top-quality handbags.

Among the handbags she wore, the most iconic is the Lady Dior handbag.

The reason why this bag is the most iconic, is because of Princess Diana. In 1995, at the Cezanne Art Exhibition sponsored by Dior Corporation, the former French First Lady Bernadette Chirac sent Princess Diana a new model of Christian Dior bags as a gift. Then, Dior immediately named this unreleased bag “Lady Dior”.
Princess Diana can be seen wearing this bag on my occasions, even formal and important official occasions. This handbag was most likely her favorite, and you can probably tell why by seeing how beautiful and luxurious it is.

Christian Dior’s Lady Dior bag was first crafted on the basis of wanting to successfully create an iconic, recognizable bag, which, in fact, Dior did. Created in 1994, the tote was first called “Chouchou,” which means “Favorite”  in French. In 1995, the First Lady of France, Madame Bernadette Chirac, gave Lady Diana, Princess of Wales, the latest handbag design by Dior. Lady Diana fell instantly in love with the bag, and as the most photographed woman in the world, the bag was highly photographed on the arm of one of the world’s most beloved women of all time. The “Lady Dior” handbag became an instant success. In honor of Lady Di, Dior decided to rename its iconic bag and pay tribute to the Princess of Wales, and since 1996, the bag has been known as the “Lady Dior” handbag.

The “Lady Dior” handbag is truly unique in both beauty and elegance. Deceptively simple, each handbag takes no less than eight hours to make. They feature quilted stitching – the signature Dior motif– with diagonal and perpendicular stitching. The arched handle is both feminine and elegant, and the charms that adorn Lady Dior have the four letters in the Dior name.

The Lady Dior is Christian Dior‘s signature bag, and has seen a lot of guises since its creation in the mid 1990s, but its timeless elegance remains the same. The bag has also been the subject of many short films, known as The Lady Dior Saga, starring Marion Cotillard, who was the face of Dior from 2008 to 2015.

The “Lady Dior” handbag is rarely seen in the secondary luxury market place, mainly because many tend to hold on to this timeless icon. Many celebrities, royalty, and influencers have been seen toting around the “Lady Dior”.

Additionally there’s the “Tod’s D-Bag” handbag, which she also wore often.

The “Tod’s D-Bag” handbag, a favorite of the Princess, was renamed after her, following her passing. This handbag was also featured in the Princesses’s film.

Kate Middleton paid tribute to her mother-in-law by carrying the same bag.

“Born as the brand’s first bag, the D Bag has always expressed its values and the highest quality. This bag in all its details reveals a centuries-old tradition of craftsmanship and of great attention given to each step, from the selection of leather to the final finishing.

The material from which the D Bag is constructed is carefully selected and is treated with natural techniques. Every season the bag is enriched with new colors and leathers.

The grace and loveliness of delicate white paper butterflies, created by artist Mauro Seresini, through these exclusive shots show the brand icon’s evolution. Celebrated for Spring Summer 2013 with the D.D. Bag, made from iconic calfskin leather and in precious python, the renewed shapes are both timely and timeless in elegance.”

The Gucci Bamboo Tote Handbag:

In 1947 materials for high fashion were still in short supply after World War 2 and the occupied Japan was become a center for manufacturing for American companies. Rather than take advantage of the cheap labor like the Levis and other American brands, Gucci found a local material, bamboo, to import into Europe to replace leather and other materials formally used for handles.

The bamboo handles was distinctive and the bags became an instant hit. But it was in the 1960s when Jackie Kennedy was photographed getting on and off planes with her husband President JF Kennedy that they became immortal.

Jump to the 1980s and 1990s and another iconic princess, Diana, was snapped carrying a Gucci bamboo handle tote bag on several occasions as she tried to escape the paparazzi.

Recently, Gucci have relaunched the bag under the name “Bamboo Forever” (and they have also produced a line of bamboo framed sunglasses).
