Princess Diana ‘wouldn’t have rebelled’ if she was guided by royals, expert claims

PRINCESS Diana “wouldn’t have rebelled” if she was guided by the Royal Family, a royal expert claimed.

He said: “But she was, she wasn’t just the girl next door, she was a very proud aristocratic woman.

“She was informal, in many ways, and approachable, relatable, but she was no push-over.”

Mr Jephson said: “She had real steel, in her soul as a lot of her critics discovered to their embarrassment.”

He said that he “admired that”.

“She sometimes was a little too impetuous for my liking.

“She could be defiant, to the point of recklessness.”

He added that these traits probably “contribute” to the fact that we still “remember her”.

Diana was married to Charles for 15 years.

They officially divorced in 1996, though they had seperated four years earlier, in 1992.

In 1992, the then-Prime Minister John Major announced the news of Charles and Diana’s separation to the House of Commons.

“This decision has been reached amicably and they will both continue to participate fully in the upbringing of their children,” Mr Major reads from a Buckingham Palace statement.

The Princess died alongside her boyfriend, Dodi Fayed and the driver of her vehicle, Henri Paul.

Trevor Rees-Jones, Diana’s bodyguard, who was a front-seat passenger in the vehicle, was the only survivor of the crash.
