Princess Diana SHOCK: Insider claims ‘there were FIVE people in Prince Charles marriage’
PRINCESS Diana’s famous “there were three in this marriage” quote has been derailed by a royal insider who claims she was also unfaithful to Prince Charles.
Princess Diana and Prince Charles married in 1981 in front of millions of people who believed the Prince and Princess of Wales were entering into a fairytale marriage. However, the reality for Prince Harry and Prince William’s parents was very different to expectations. After a turbulent marriage filled with arguments, affairs and feuds, the couple separated in 1992 and finalised their divorce in 1996.
Following her split from the Prince of Wales, Diana gave an interview in 1995 to BBC’s Panorama.
When asked about Charles’ alleged affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, Diana famously claimed: “There were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded.”
However, royal expert and the Evening Standard’s royal correspondent Robert Jobson has now claimed there were in fact “five in the marriage”.
Speaking at London Press Club’s In Conversation with fellow royal experts, Robert said: “To be fair to the Prince of Wales, Princess Diana also had affairs.
He added: “Really there were about five people in the marriage.”
Robert went on to explain how Charles and Camilla’s relationship was consistent and could even be seen as a “love story”.
Speaking on Charles’ relationship with Camilla during his marriage, Princess Diana’s former protection officer Inspector Ken Wharfe said: “Camilla was always there and that was difficult for Diana.”
He went on to share: “When people say to me ‘did Diana ever love the Prince of Wales?’ I think honestly she did. I do believe that.”
Princess Diana tragically died in a car crash in Paris in 1997.
Prince Charles went on to marry Camilla in 2005 after going public with his relationship.
