PRINCESS CHARLOTTE turns six today, and as is custom, her parents shared a new image of her to mark the occasion. The birthday girl wears a pretty floral print dress in the photo.
The dress description reads: “A Rachel Riley favourite! Puff-sleeved button-front dress with a vintage floral print in contrast colours on a navy base.
“Trimmed with pink ric-rac trims and buttons. Matching dress available for baby girl. Available in a selection of prints.”
Rachel Riley is a British brand, favoured by the Cambridges to dress their children.
Most famously Prince George wore red shorts and a white & red shirt by the brand as a toddler.
The brand was started in 1998 and has a whimsical, vintage feel.
Princess Charlotte isn’t wearing any accessories in the photo, and her long hair is worn loose around her shoulders.
Fans have gone mad for the picture, and taken to social media to share their thoughts.
One wrote: “It’s just lovely to see this pretty Princess growing up so happy, healthy with her loving family.
“Bless them and keep them healthy and safe. Happy Birthday Princess Charlotte.”
Another said: “Omg she is all grown up and sooo blond such a beautiful little lady!”
One more suggested Charlotte was “the spitting image of her dad” and inherited her mum’s green eyes.
Unlike all other birthday portraits, Charlotte’s wasn’t shared on the Royal Family’s social media pages this weekend.
That is because Prince William and his wife are involved in a social media boycott.
The Duke of Cambridge, president of the Football Association, took to Twitter along with Kate in a rare statement to announce that they would participate in the unprecedented four-day action, which began on Friday.
He wrote: “I join the entire football community in the social media boycott this weekend.”
The post on the official Duke and Duchess of Cambridge page was signed off with “W” – signalling it had been written by the prince.
It is unclear if the couple will mark their daughter’s birthday on social media after the boycott has ended.
