Princess Beatrice’s baby Sienna handed secret royal title – but it wasn’t given by Queen

PRINCESS Beatrice’s baby Sienna holds a secret title, one that wasn’t bestowed upon her by Her Majesty the Queen.

Beatrice took to Twitter at the time to announce what she’d named her new bundle of joy and shared a snap of Sienna’s tiny footprints for the occasion.

She wrote: “We are delighted to share that we have named our daughter Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi.

“We are all doing well and Wolfie [Edo’s child from a previous relationship] is the best big brother to Sienna.”

Sienna is the second grandchild of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, following the birth of Eugenie’s son August in February.

The youngster is currently eleventh in line to the throne and one of her middle names pays homage to her great-grandmother.

Sienna isn’t entitled to an official title in the UK, due to a major historical rule, but that’s not to say she doesn’t have one.

The rule in question date from Letters Patent by King George V in 1917, where he wrote that all the children of the sovereign, the male-line grandchildren and the Prince of Wales’s eldest son were all allowed to hold a princely title.

As a result, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s children are not entitled to a Prince or Princess title.

This is because Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi is a descendant of Italian nobility and holds the title of a count.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Edoardo’s father, Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, explained: “Edoardo is the only male descendent taking the family into the next generation.

“He is a count, his wife will be a countess automatically and any of their children will be counts or nobile donna.”

A photograph shows Beatrice and Edo donning facemasks as they pose in front of a Christmas tree at Westminster Abbey.

Property developer Edo wore a smart suit, complete with a matching tie and pocket square, while his wife wore a camel coloured coat.

Beatrice also wore a burgundy velvet knotted headband – something which has become a signature look for the royal.

The couple appeared glowing and happy, despite any lack of sleep they may have been experiencing in the run-up to their first Christmas with their new baby.

While no official photograph has yet to be released of the young tot, the family were spotted enjoying a festive day-out in November.

The couple were joined by Wolfie – Edo’s child from a previous relationship – and baby Sienna for a visit to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park.

Beatrice was spotted pushing Sienna in a £1,000 Fox 3 Bugaboo pram around the Christmas markets and while there, the family also played some of the fairground games.
