She was born at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London and weighed six pounds, two ounces.
In a statement on Instagram today, Edoardo said: “Our life together has just begun, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things that await us.
“Feeling so much love and gratitude for my amazing wife, baby Sienna and Wolfie.
“These are the days I never want to forget. This week, a friend said to me the sweetest saying….that with every child you grow a whole new heart.
“A massive thank you to the midwife and the amazing team at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.”
With the choice of ‘Elizabeth’ as Sienna’s middle name, the couple have continued a family tradition of naming girls after the monarch.
The Queen gave Princess Anne, her only daughter, the name Elizabeth as a middle name when she was born in 1950.
Her Majesty has since seen three of her four granddaughters also take her name.
They are Zara Anne Elizabeth Tindall, Princess Beatrice Elizabeth Mary, and Lady Louise Alice Elizabeth Mary Mountbatten-Windsor.
Beatrice and Edoardo are now the latest to name one of the monarch’s great-granddaughters after her.
Beatrice’s cousin Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, and his wife Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, paid homage to Her Majesty by naming their daughter ‘Charlotte Elizabeth Diana’ when she born in 2015,
She was also named after William’s late mother, Princess Diana, who died in 1997.
William and Kate’s firstborn, their son, Prince George, born in 2013, also took his names from his royal relatives.
His full name, Prince George Alexander Louis, is a tribute to the Queen’s father, King George VI.
Alexander is the masculine form of the Queen’s own middle name, Alexandra, while Louis is also one of William’s own names.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child, Louis Arthur Charles, born in 2018, also takes his name from his royal relatives.
Like his big brother’s name, it references the Queen’s second cousin, Lord Louis Mountbatten, as well as William’s father, Prince Charles.
Other young royals, whose names appeared to pay tribute to the Queen include Isla Elizabeth, who was born in 2012.
Born to Peter Phillips and his ex-wife Autumn, she is the Queen’s second oldest great-grandchild and the first great-granddaughter to take her name.
Zara and Mike Tindall’s second daughter, Lena Elizabeth, born in 2018, became the latest of the Queen’s great-grandchildren to follow suit.
One variation on the use of the Queen’s name has been for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s daughter, Lilibet Diana.
The couple’s second-born, who entered the world in June of this year, takes her name ‘Lilibet’ from the Queen’s nickname that is reportedly used by other members of the Royal Family.
