Prince William to lead way at Kate’s concert as Duke moves closer to becoming king


PRINCE WILLIAM and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge are set to attend a “together at Christmas” community carol service this Wednesday.

“This engagement will be covered by a Royal Rota and a Limited Fixed Position.”

The announcement added: “Please note those wishing to apply for a place at the Fixed Position should email [email protected] by no later than 10.00hrs on Tuesday, December 7.

“Successful applicants will be notified by email.”

The Duchess of Cambridge will give a reading at the Together At Christmas community carol service.

It is not known whether the Queen will attend the event.

It is understood that the Queen is still expected to host family members at Sandringham over Christmas in keeping with royal tradition.

Concerning this, Daily Mail royal correspondent Rebecca English tweeted on Monday: “New: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, accompanied by other members of the Royal Family, will attend the Together At Christmas community carol service at Westminster Abbey on Wednesday, December 8.”

Katie Rawcliffe, ITV Head of Entertainment Commissioning said of the event: “In aid of bringing everyone together this Christmas, we’re honoured to be airing an incredibly special carol event with a difference.

“Some of the artists include Leona Lewis, Tom Walker and Ellie Goulding.

“ITV are guaranteed to deliver the festive joy we all need straight from Westminster Abbey into our living rooms this Christmas.”

The concert will be spearheaded by Kate and supported by The Royal Foundation.

One of the aims of the event is to raise funds for causes close to the Cambridges’ hearts.

The event will also recognise the work of those who have supported their communities through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Among the charities recognised will be NHS Charities Together, which supports health service workers, volunteers and patients.
