Prince William drew on own experience for ‘incredible’ advice to Deborah James children

PRINCE William offered “incredible” advice to the late Dame Deborah James’ two children, a royal expert said.

Ms Ross added: “This really was, you know, her, Deborah James’, time in the final stages of hospice care at home.

“It was a really powerful moment for the British people, everyone knew the story.”

Ms Ross described William’s involvement as “so wonderful” and that it “really validated that this woman touched so many people’s lives”.dame deborah james and prince william

Ms Garibaldi suggested that William likely gave Deborah’s children “some really great advice” with him having lost his mother around the same age.

She added: “I’m sure they can relate on a lot of different levels that most of us can’t.

“I’m sure it was a really special moment for them”.

Ms Ross added that from the photographs of William with the family, William did “look like a family member”.

Aged just 36, Diana tragically passed away in a car accident in Paris.

In his 2006 book ‘William’s Princess’, royal expert Robert Jobson wrote about how, during the dark period, a young William acted as Diana’s confidant.

Mr Jobson wrote that, after having watched Diana’s Panorama interview, William, Diana’s “ever-dependable little consort”, was “mortified”.

“For a while he ignored her, not wanting to continue in his role as her confidant any more.”

Mr Jobson wrote that Diana “leaned heavily on her eldest son in her times of need.

“Whenever Diana felt uncertain, William was there for her.”
