The BAFTAs is one of the biggest nights in cinema – and for some it was the perfect opportunity to enjoy a glamorous evening out with their significant other. Leading the way, of course, was Britain’s very own Prince William and Kate Middleton, who stole the show as they arrived for the star-studded 2017 event. The Duchess looked breathtaking in a bespoke Alexander McQueen gown, featuring tiers and delicate floral detailing, as she was escorted inside the Royal Albert Hall by her husband, dapper in a black tuxedo.

Hugh Grant attended the ceremony with his partner, Swedish TV producer Anna Eberstein. The couple, who rarely make red carpet appearances together, are parents to two children, John Mungo Grant, who was born in September 2012, and a baby girl, who arrived in December 2015. Hugh, 56, is also a father to two other children from his relationship with Tinglan Hong.

Fifty Shades of Grey actor Jamie Dornan proudly escorted his wife Amelia Warner to Sunday’s ceremony. Jamie, 34, and 34-year-old Amelia, a singer and songwriter who performs under the name Slow Moving Millie, tied the knot in a country house in Somerset in April 2013, and have since welcomed two daughters together, Dulcie and Elva.

Emily Blunt and her husband John Krasinski were the picture of happiness as they arrived for the start of the ceremony. The sweet couple have been married since July 2012, and have two little girls together, Hazel, born 2014, and Violet, who joined their family last year. British star Emily was one of the night’s nominees, honoured for her work in the hit thriller The Girl on the Train.

Eddie Redmayne and his wife Hannah Bagshawe caused quite a stir as they hit the red carpet at the 2017 BAFTAs. The couple looked very much in love as they posed together for the cameras, with Hannah turning heads in a striking black sheer gown with red detailing. Eddie and Hannah have been married since December 2014, and are parents to one little girl, Iris Mary, born in June 2016.

Another couple enjoying a night out in the capital was director Sam Taylor-Johnson and her husband Aaron Johnson. Sam, 49, opted for a stunning embellished nude gown for the film celebration, while Aaron looked dapper in a black tuxedo. The sweet couple tied the knot in June 2012, and are parents to two little girls together, Wylda Rae, born July 2010, and Romy Hero, born January 2012.

Thandie Newton and her husband OI Parker had the look of look as they hit the red carpet at the 2017 BAFTAs. Thandie looked stunning in a plunging black gown – very much the fashion trend on the night – her long hair left loose and falling down her back. The actress married English writer, producer and director OI in 1998, and they have three children, daughter Ripley and Nico and son Booker.

J.K. Rowling made a very rare appearance with her husband, anaesthetist Neil Murray, at the star-studded BAFTAs. The couple have been married since December 2001 and are parents to one son, David Gordon Rowling Murray, who was born in March 2003. The Harry Potter author looked gorgeous in a form-fitting gown as the pair posed for photographs together on the red carpet.

Stanley Tucci was every bit the proud husband as he escorted his wife Felicity Blunt to the ceremony. Felicity is the elder sister of nominee Emily Blunt – who starred with Stanley in The Devil Wears Prada and later introduced the couple. Stanley and Felicity tied the knot in the summer of 2012 and in January 2015 welcomed their first child together, a baby boy named Matteo Oliver.

Julia Styles couldn’t stop smiling as she hit the red carpet with camera assistant Preston J. Cook – and it’s little wonder. The sweet couple announced their engagement last month after meeting and falling in love on the set of the 2015 American thriller Blackway. Julia proudly flashed her engagement ring as the pair posed together for the cameras before making their way inside for the start of the ceremony.
