PRINCE WILLIAM and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge have issued a heartfelt tribute to Prince Philip just moments after his emotional funeral service concluded.
In the post, one of the pictures shows the Duke’s coffin being carried by Royal Marines up the steps of the chapel.
A second moving photograph shows the coffin decorated with his Admiral of the Fleet Naval Cap and sword.
It is also accompanied by a wreath of white blooms chosen the Queen – the Duke’s wife of 73 years.
William earlier cut a sombre figure as he arrived at Windsor Castle with his wife Kate.
He wore a black face mask with a black suit, while Kate opted for a black dress and a pearl necklace, borrowed from the Queen.
The Cambridge children, Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, two, remained at home with their nanny.
Members of the Royal Family were forced to socially distance from each other at the sombre gathering.
The future King followed his father Prince Charles, aunt Princess Anne, and uncles Prince Andrew and Edward to lead the Royal Family in remembering the Duke of Edinburgh’s more than 70 years of service to the Crown.
William walked alongside his cousin Peter Phillip’s and brother Prince Harry.
Today was the first time William, second-in-line to the throne, was seen in public with his younger brother since Harry stepped down as a senior royal last year.
Their reunion comes less than six weeks after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey aired in the US and the UK.
After walking behind Prince Philip’s coffin to St George’s Chapel, William was seen chatting cordially with Harry.
And later on, Harry was seen walking with William and Kate away from the chapel where he married Meghan in May 2018.
Royal commentator Danny Wootton said: “Thank goodness William and Harry put their differences aside to properly reunite and chat after the service.
“Lovely of Kate to step away and walk with Sophie, giving the two brothers their first moment together.”
In his interview with Oprah, Harry said there was “space” between him and his brother after they had disagreements.
Royal fans welcomed news of a possible reconciliation.
One person tweeted: “So good to see William & Harry back together … Walking together like to brothers should do.”
A second wrote: “Not a royalist but it did warm my heart seeing William, Harry and Kate so close.”
And a third person said: “Good to see the boys walking side by side and chatting and smiling.
“God bless HRHs William and Harry, your mum would have been proud of both of you.”
