PRINCE PHILIP played a vital role in preparing and “coaching” Prince William to become king, according to a royal commentator.
Mr Lacey said: “He prepared him to become king, he was just like a coach.
“Another thing not to underestimate is that it was the Duke himself who organised the lunches between his grandson and Queen Elizabeth.
“They were his idea, then, when the two started discussing work, he would excuse himself and, with extreme tranquility.
“He would step aside as he did not want to interfere with his wife’s institutional functions.”
According to a former royal photographer, it is Prince Charles that will “shoulder” the “heavy load” of royal responsibility left behind by his father Prince Philip,
Arthur Edwards told True Royalty that Prince Charles is prepepared to step up and fill the void following Prince Philip’s death.
The royal photographer added that the Prince of Wales looked the “most troubled” and upset out of the Royal Family during the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral.
Mr Edwards said: “He is the man who has got to shoulder the heavy load now, Prince Charles, there is no doubt about that.
“And he is the man fit for it and he has trained for it.
“He was the last one to have a deep conversation with his father and his father must have spoken to him about this day [and] the future.
“This all went through my mind, I was getting these pictures but this was the man who seemed the most troubled and the most upset.
“The most concerned about which way things were going to go.”
Prince William and Prince Charles have been tasked with sorting out the Royal Family “jigsaw pieces” in order to put the monarchy back together according to royal commentator Russell Myers.
He told ITV’s Lorraine that the Royal Family is starting to get back to business following a tough few weeks for the institution.
Mr Myers said: “We are seeing the royals getting back to business.
“I think we are going to see a bit more collaborations.
“Certainly, Charles and William are going to be trying to sort out the jigsaw pieces, putting the family back together after all the sort of infighting and scandal we have had over the last few weeks.”
