Prince Louis gets smoke in his eyes as Wales family toast marshmallows on open fire

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are making the most of their bank holiday weekend by joining in volunteering efforts as part of the Big Help Out.

Prince Louis got smoke in his eyes while toasting marshmallows before saying “I like mine just like this” as he joined the rest of his family at a scout hut in Slough to help with renovations. Prince George was also pictured getting handy with a drill and Princess Charlotte was on hand to help out during Prince William and Princess Kate’s visit, with little Louis spotted helping his dad operate a digger on the site as the royals took part in the Big Help Out.

The 3rd Upton Scouts Hut was built in 1982 and is used by a variety of community groups in the area, including the local mosque, a senior citizens contact group for members of the Asian community as well as the Scouts themselves.

The Princess of Wales has also been Joint President of the Scouts since 2020 and was there to oversee her children’s hard work.

The Big Help Out has been created in tribute to King Charles’s years of dedicated service and is encouraging people to try volunteering for themselves supporting projects in their communities.

Prince Louis follows in sporty Kate’s footsteps as he tries his hand at archery

Prince Louis cut a cute figure as he tried his hand at archery, following in the footsteps of his mum, the Princess of Wales who tried the sport in Bhutan in 2016.

The five-year-old could be seen sporting a blue stripy polo shirt and denim shorts, as he confidently fired an arrow at the target.

The royal children tucked into their marshmallows as a reward for their hard work, with Louis doing some digging with dad William and Charlotte helping out with painting.

The hut in Slough is just a short drive away from the Wales family home at Adelaide Cottage, which they moved into last year.

Their appearance comes hours after Charlotte and George joined their parents to watch the spectacular Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle last night.

The show was a little late for five-year-old Louis, however he once again stole hearts at the Coronation ceremony and balcony appearance on Saturday with his cheeky antics.

He was seen pulling faces during the RAF flypast and drumming on the Buckingham Palace balcony, however his big sister Charlotte made sure to keep an eye on him during the service at Westminster Abbey.

During William and Kate’s visit to the Windsor Long Walk yesterday the prince explained how “tired” his daughter was after the big day.

He said: “She’s very tired after yesterday. She’s having a quiet day at home. It was making sure her little brother behaved himself.”

William spoke to the Rock Choir who had just performed on a stage on the Long Walk and joked that Prince Louis has been enjoying listening to Led Zeppelin recently.

The royal couple also met members of the Berkshire Theatre School who had performed songs from the musical Matilda earlier in the afternoon.

William told the group: “I can see you’re in Mathilda T-shirts. Charlotte loves the musical Matilda at the moment. She knows all the songs.”
