Prince Harry does not want ‘POMP AND PAGEANTRY’ in Meghan Markle wedding
PRINCE Harry does not want “pomp and pageantry” in his ceremony when he chooses to marry Meghan Markle, a source close to the royal has revealed.
Unlike the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the ginger royal does not want a public wedding at Westminster Abbey and will instead stick to current relationship protocols and opt for something more private.
The insider said: “Pomp and pageantry is the last thing he would want.
“I can see him wanting to get married at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
“It would stop it from turning into a total media circus and give the day a sense of privacy that Harry so badly craves.”
US Magazine also revealed that the royal’s eagerness to shy away from the limelight will be supported by his grandmother
Despite earlier reports suggesting the Queen may not attend because Miss Markle is a divorcee, the inside source said she is set to attend regardless.
Earlier it was suggested that in theory the Queen cannot attend the wedding because the Suits actress was previously married to Trevor Engelson.
With palpable rumours of an impending marriage announcement brewing, the source added that the Suits star could not be happier with her royal relationship.
They claimed: “They’re in the best place ever.
“Their relationship has gone from strength to strength.
“I don’t think Meghan ever thought she would meet someone who gets her so well, who shares so many interests with her.
“They match on so many levels. They really can’t wait to build a future together.”
A second insider also disclosed that Prince Harry is set to retain his reserved precedent when he announces his engagement to his 36-year-old girlfriend.
They declared: “They will most likely hold a small photo call at Kensington Palace, with just one photographer and a journalist invited.
“On the same day, they’ll do a TV interview that will be syndicated around the world.”
Rumours of the blooming relationship between the Suits star and Prince Harry ripened after the smitten couple struggled to keep their hands off each other at the recent Invictus Games in Toronto.
Insiders recently revealed that the Royal and Miss Markle are “as good as engaged” and have discussed their marriage plans openly with family and friends.
An insider said: “While Meghan may not be wearing a ring or a formal engagement announced, it’s fair to say they’re as good as engaged now.”
