Prince Harry buys Meghan ‘ludicrous’ cake as royals snubbed from birthday bash

PRINCE HARRY is going all-out for wife Meghan Markle’s 40th birthday by buying a birthday cake from a bespoke bakery that charges more than £160 – but other Royal Family members won’t be there to see it.

Posies & Sugar’s website shows a three-tiered masterpiece, serving up to 30 guests, costs £160, while additional charges apply for special dietary requests, including gluten-free and vegan.

The cakes on offer include a vanilla bean, “perfect for birthdays”; a rich ‘Mama’s Chocolate’; ‘Strawberry Bliss’, loaded with fresh Central Coast strawberries that comes with a range of frostings.

Guests at the low-key birthday bash, expected to include 65 of Meghan’s closest friends and family, will see guests on the day enjoy “grazing tables” with locally sourced foods and wines.

Colin Cowie, who was Vogue’s top wedding planner and caterer in 2018, was reportedly recommended by the chat show host following her explosive interview with Meghan and Prince Harry.

He has put on parties for several high-profile stars, including Oprah Winfrey, Tom Cruise and Kim Kardashian.

A source told The Mirror: “Meghan wants a small gathering. About 65 people are invited, her closest friends and family.

“Colin was recommended to her by Oprah who always puts on fabulous parties.”
