Prince Harry: The new job will be Harry’s first solo business venture since moving to the USA
According to one royal commentator, Harry’s new job aligns with his interests and helps him establish an individual career apart from Meghan.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk: “When forging a career, areas of speciality are naturally likely to be amongst those which are chosen.
“Meghan, unsurprisingly, has chosen entertainment which has involved, with Harry, the deals with Netflix and Spotify and also the voice over for the Disney movie Elephants.
“Harry has spoken openly and frankly about how the tragic death of his mother and the intrusive glare of the media spotlight have harmed his mental health.”
Mr Fitzwilliams added: “As a business venture, he now has an executive role at BetterUp in Silicon Valley which offers services to ‘strengthen mental fitness’ by coaching.”
Mr Fitzwilliams claimed the Sussexes recent interview with Oprah Winfrey could prompt some to question the couple’s intentions.
The expert said: “After their recent interview on Oprah, there are those who will question Harry and Meghan’s intentions, especially since he said they only made the Netflix and Spotify business deals as they needed the money for security and they were ‘never part of the plan’.
“This, however, is his first solo business venture linked to an area in which he has helped many others.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are financially independent from the Royal Family
Mr Fitzwilliams claimed the new role helps highlight Harry as a solo campaigner with his own interests and goals.
He said: “It highlights his individuality, which some believe has been diminished after his marriage and the drastic change which has occurred in his life.
“There are likely to be more commitments for both of them as their activities expand as the pandemic recedes.”
Meghan and Harry have been based in Montecito, California since last summer and are currently expecting their second child.
