The Duchess of Cambridge said of George, Charlotte and Louis: “They are great, thank you.”
Season ticket holder Fiona Sturgess went on to reveal: “Kate said that William was playing football with the children last night and one of them said, I think it was George, “Are you playing football tomorrow, Pops?”
Pops isn’t the only sweet nickname used by the children.
Kate has also revealed Prince George’s nickname for Queen Elizabeth II in 2016.
The Duchess told ITV’s The Queen at Ninety: “George is only 2 ½ and he calls her ‘Gan-Gan.
“She always leaves a little gift or something in their room when we go and stay, and that just shows her love for her family.”
Queen Elizabeth’s nickname as a child was ‘Lilibet’, and this is also the name of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle newborn daughter, Lilibet Diana.
William has envisaged his children competing in a variety of sports.
He spoke to tennis legend Novak Djokovic about George – and a possible sporting future.
William told the 20-time Grand Slam winner from Serbia: “Trying to get a tennis racket in their hand – and a football!”
The future King spoke at length about his personal love for football, and in particular Aston Villa.
He told Peter Crouch the passion has grown since becoming a dad.
William explained: “Since becoming a dad, football has become way more important than it used to, it’s changed a lot; I need to be amongst other guys and let out some steam.”
