Prince Andrew has chosen not to issue a public statement about the allegations.
A source close to the case reportedly informed the Daily Mirror that the Duke of York would currently maintain a “wall of silence”.
His silence will be maintained while his legal team “go through every single detail with exact precision to make sure there are no curve balls come their way”.
As part of the lawsuit, Ms Giuffre is claiming damages for emotional harm and distress.
If successful it could cost Prince Andrew millions of pounds.
In accordance with US law, the Duke of York must be served the legal papers in person before the legal process can move forward.
Currently, Ms Giuffre’s lawyers have said that they have been unable to approach him.
Her lawyers in the US are set to return to court on September 13 to apply for more time for the case.
It has been estimated that the entire process to settle the matter could take “up to five years”.
The Daily Mirror has reported that the Duke of York’s lawyers will not be present at September’s hearing in New York.
Prince Andrew has denied claims that he had s*x with Ms Giuffre and speaking on BBC’s Newsnight explained that he had no recollection of ever meeting her.
Ms Giuffre said she was just 17 when she was trafficked as a s*x slave for paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Mr Epstein died in prison in August 2019.
