One insider told The Sun: “Everyone close to him is telling him it’s a stupid idea and he should just forget it.”
According to reports, two leading publishers are interested in working with Andrew on the potential book.
It has also been suggested that this could be a way for Andrew to earn some extra cash as King Charles looks at cutting funding within the Royal Family.

Andrew, who wants to follow in Harry’s footsteps with the success of his book, is rumoured to be in discussions with US biographer and interviewer Daphne Barak.
The Sun said the Duke is “desperate for future funds” after Queen Elizabeth II left him “no inheritance”.
King Charles’s latest plans could see Andrew “evicted” from his Windsor home unless he is able to pay for the maintenance of the £30million home himself.
A source added: “Andrew was the original spare and there’s plenty of material. Compared to Harry, he has a far greater depth of history to draw from.

“But it would also be a fascinating insight into the inner workings of the royals and their relationships.”
“But mainly he wants to set the record straight. If he doesn’t change the narrative, no one else will.”
