Prince Andrew ‘must fear name and shame Maxwell deal’

PRINCE Andrew faces more anxiety over his friendship with late paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein, US legal experts have warned.

Prince Andrew has always strenuously denied any wrongdoing on his part.

But a senior attorney whose law firm represents several of Epstein’s alleged victims, said: “Maxwell is running out of time and options to try to drastically reduce her time behind bars if a jury finds her guilty.

“We understand she is ready to fully cooperate with the FBI investigation into Epstein’s empire by naming names, dates, times and places.

“A lot of rich and powerful men around the world should be worried – including Prince Andrew.” Maxwell, 59, whose father was shamed newspaper tycoon Robert, is facing a sentence of up to 35 years if convicted of child sex trafficking and perjury charges in two criminal trials – the first of which is due to start in just over three months.

Andrew, 61, is already facing civil accusations of rape and sexual assault in an action brought by alleged former “sex slave” Virginia Giuffre, 38.

She claims that she met the prince three times when she was 17 and known by her maiden name Roberts. Andrew, the

Queen’s second son, has denied the allegations. A judge at Manhattan Federal Court will decide on September 13 whether to serve the prince with a lawsuit if he or his legal team fail to respond to the claims.

Top US attorney Spencer Kuvin, who represents nine of Epstein’s victims, claimed earlier this year that it was “highly likely” Maxwell will try to cut a deal despite having entered pleas of not guilty to charges that she procured and “groomed” four teenage girls for Epstein between 1994 and 2004.

He added: “Ultimately, I don’t think she will ever end up in front of a jury.”

Former Wall Street tycoon Epstein was found hanged in his cell aged 66 in August 2019 while awaiting trial on child sex trafficking charges.

Andrew has admitted meeting him on several occasions but has denied any wrongdoing.
