Prince Andrew may be moving to Frogmore Cottage – see inside Harry & Meghan’s former home

Prince Andrew, 63, has reportedly been offered Frogmore Cottage as his new residence after living in Royal Lodge since 2004.

Frogmore Cottage: Harry and Meghan asked to ‘vacate’ UK home

Prince Andrew could be moving to Frogmore Cottage after it was confirmed earlier this month by an Archewell spokesperson that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were “requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage”. The couple lived at the property for five months in 2019 when they were working members of the Royal Family.

During Harry and Meghan’s Netflix series, they shared many glimpses into the Windsor property.

Pictures showed that the couple had an open-plan kitchen with a large breakfast bar. The couple also had luxurious marble countertops and dark wood cabinets throughout the space.

It looked like the circular handles on the drawers and cabinets were a trendy colour of gold to give it a more contemporary appearance.

There was also a transparent glass vase filled with flowers on display on the breakfast bar as the Duchess of Sussex was pictured leaning over to kiss her husband.

A black picture frame and a big white lampshade were dangling from the opposite wall. The breakfast bar served as a stylish serving area for visitors as well as housing their silver sink, which looked very glamorous.

The pair chose three identical metal industrial lights for the ceiling, which they balanced with strip lighting to give the open-plan living area a more subdued appearance.

In Frogmore, there was an additional food preparation counter with three matching containers lined up in the corner between the two distinct doorways.

Harry and Meghan had a sleek black microwave put into the wall and a pastel tile splashback installed to protect the walls.

When the Duke and Duchess shared Princess Lilibet Diana’s first birthday pictures last year, they gave royal fans a peek inside their Frogmore Cottage residence.

It is thought that the Duke and Duchess gave one-year-old Lilibet a laid-back garden party at their former residence on the Windsor estate complete with birthday cake, balloons, games, and picnic foods.

A number of images from the event were shared and they appeared to show off their home’s gorgeous living area.

The Duchess of Sussex, Princess Lilibet, and their group of friends were standing under a vertical light that highlighted a piece of wall art.

In keeping with Meghan’s chic aesthetic, the industrial-style gallery lighting looked to be made of black metallic material.

Vicky Charles, the head decorator at the Soho House clubs, was hired by Meghan in 2019 to decorate Frogmore Cottage.

Ms Charles was in charge of the Soho House locations’ architecture in Malibu, Chicago, and Barcelona.

Since 2002, Prince Andrew has stayed in Windsor’s Royal Lodge, a sizable residence with 31 bedrooms.

According to recent reports, King Charles may be reducing Andrew’s annual payment, “which could leave him unable to afford his home’s running costs,” as stated by the BBC.

Queen Elizabeth gave the Duke and Duchess of Sussex the house as a gift, and they later paid back the cost of the renovations after paying for them with the Sovereign Grant.

The Sussex family were reportedly expecting to continue to have a place to live in Frogmore Cottage so that they would always have somewhere to stay when they come to visit.

But given that Harry and Meghan seem to reside in Montecito, California full-time, it appears that this is no longer the case.
