PIPPA MIDDLETON, the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister, revealed how she and her family treated Kate and Prince William’s wedding like any other, despite it being one of the biggest and most spectacular events in royal history.
Pippa first received media attention on fulfilling the role of maid of honour at Kate and Prince William’s wedding in 2011. Several photos of her reached the front pages, with the nation seemingly besotted by her stunning appearance.
A subsequent photoshoot on a tennis court in similar behind-the-scenes fashion only furthered her mysterious and care-free persona.
In recent years, Pippa has fallen off the radar slightly.
Her last major announcement was the birth of her son in 2018.
And so Arthur Michael William Matthews was brought into the world of royalty.

One memorable moment from the birth came from an unusual source – the BBC’s Simon McCoy.
On reading the breaking news bulletin, the broadcaster couldn’t help but express his excitement or lack thereof.
A few years after her sister’s royal wedding, in 2014, Pippa appeared on the US’ NBC programme, Today.
Today host Matthew Lauer, when talking about Kate and William’s wedding, said: “It was the best of the British pomp and circumstance, what was it like to be in it?”

Pippa replied: “It sounds funny to say but we as family just saw it as a family wedding.
“And perhaps actually I didn’t realise the scale of it until afterwards.
“I had to make sure I helped my sister where I should and looked after the bridesmaids and pageboys.
“But, we really saw it as a family getting together and doing their bit like any family.”

Mr Lauer said: “And people find that extraordinary, that you viewed it as just a family wedding. Did it feel that way to you in the build up?”
Pippa: “Not really – even walking through the Abbey there were a lot of people but I didn’t see any TV cameras.
“To me it was just performing in front of a lot of people and not necessarily the whole world.”
Pippa is known to be incredibly close to Kate.

The pair have been spotted hanging out together repeatedly despite the Duchess’ busy royal schedule.
A recent report from The Talko revealed the extent to which Pippa had played a deciding role in helping Kate adapt to a very “difficult” separation when they were younger.
The publication explained: “It’s no secret that Kate and Pippa Middleton are extremely close.
“The Duchess of Cambridge even went against tradition by having her adult sibling in her bridal party.

“Kate is only about a year and a half older than Pippa so they had a special connection even within their already close family.
“When Kate asked to attend the boarding school St Andrews Prep, Pippa wasn’t far behind her.”
It added: “Adjusting to life away from home was difficult, and these siblings often leaned on one another for support.
“They were in the same Brownie troop, played sports and learned to play the piano and the flute.”
