Philip and Princess Anne: Beautiful picture of father and daughter shown for first time

1502

A BEAUTIFUL picture has been revealed for the first time of Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, with his daughter Princess Anne.

The Princess Royal, Princess Anne led a touching tribute to her late father and explained how as she grew older the Duke of Edinburgh imparted great advice and knowledge to his children.

Princess Anne said: “As you grew older there was a lot of talking to you about things that he had done so you became aware of what else was going on and the things he had been doing.

“But there was a huge amount of encouragement to do things and quite a lot of leeway in terms of pushing your own boundaries.

“Which are probably not given to many nowadays.”

Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, also appeared in the programme and echoed the message made by Anne.

The Prince of Wales said: “He didn’t suffer fools gladly.

“So if you said anything that was in any way ambiguous he would say ‘make up yur mind!’.

“He was very good at showing you how to do things and instruct you in various things.”

The touching documentary was aired on Friday evening following the announcement of the Duke of Edinburgh’s death.

The announcement from Buckingham Palace read: “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.

“Further announcements will be made in due course.

“The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss.”
