KATE, the Duchess of Cambridge, is said to be hoping Prince William and Prince Harry will reconcile after Prince Philip’s funeral.

According to The Telegraph, the Duchess of Cambridge spoke to friends about Harry and William’s alleged disagreement and told friends she did not believe it was too late to “pull them back in”.

William and Harry are expected to come together on Saturday to walk behind their grandfather’s coffin.

The pair will walk alongside their father Prince Charles, as part of a procession in Windsor.

A royal expert said the brothers are set to relive emotional moments as they remember the time they walked behind their mother’s coffin with the Duke of Edinburgh.

Royal expert Penny Juror told FEMAIL: “This is likely to be a very emotional and reflective time for the entire family.

“I am sure that walking behind their grandfather’s coffin will bring back difficult memories for William and Harry of losing their mother.

“It will probably bring back difficult memories for their father, too.

“And I am sure it won’t be lost on any of them that the last time they walked behind a coffin, the Duke of Edinburgh was there walking with them and giving them all the courage they needed to get through the day.”

Due to the current coronavirus guidelines, members of the public are warned gathering in large groups would be a breach of the preventive measures.

John Story, mayor of Windsor and Maidenhead, said: “It is a very difficult time for people and people have very strong feelings, but we have to ask everyone to put theirs and the health and safety of others at the top of their list of priorities and not come into Windsor.

“The whole of the funeral, including the ceremonial procession, is taking place inside the castle walls.

“Normally you would expect this to take place along the Long Walk and through Windsor but this year it cannot happen.

“I hope, at the end of the day, that people will regard it as having been a very respectful day and a very safe one.

“It will be a very sad day for us all. I think it will be quite an emotional day and it will be a big national moment, because he has been such a large part of our lives for a very long time indeed.”
