Pippa Middleton first burst onto the American consciousness because of a wedding. That wedding, of course, was the royal nuptials of Prince William and Pippa’s older sister, Kate Middleton. And while it was certainly the now–Duchess of Cambridge’s day, the image of Pippa wearing a figure-hugging Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton dress has endured.
In a little over a month, Pippa’s own wedding will take place. And considering the fact that Pippa is a party-planning expert, it will no doubt be an affair to remember. Below, a review of everything we know so far about the upcoming wedding.
The Groom
Pippa is engaged to James Matthews, a hedge fund manager who proposed to Pippa last summer in the Lake District area. At the time, the couple had been dating for less than a year, although they had previously been romantically linked. Matthews’s parents own a hotel in St. Barth’s, which the couple have visited together.
What Her Family Thinks
After their engagement, Pippa’s family members quickly expressed their approval for Matthews, as well as their happiness. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge issued a statement saying they were “absolutely delighted with the news.” Pippa and Kate’s father, Michael Middleton, said, “They make a wonderful couple, and we wish them every happiness together.”
The Date
The wedding will take place on May 20. While that date was long speculated, it has been recently confirmed. Of course, invitees would have received their save-the-date cards many months ago.
The Location
The wedding ceremony will take place at St. Mark’s Church in Englefield, Berkshire. Afterward, a reception will be held at Carole and Michael Middleton’s home, Bucklebury Manor, which is a Grade II–listed historical residence. Its expansive grounds will likely be well utilized.

Despite the fact that Pippa memorably served as the maid of honor in her sister’s wedding, the Duchess of Cambridge will likely not be a bridesmaid. However, Prince George is set to be a page boy, while Princess Charlotte will serve as a bridesmaid.
Who’s Invited
Chances are, the wedding has a long guest list. But there has been outsize speculation around two guests in particular—Prince Harry and his girlfriend, Meghan Markle. For some time, it has been widely expected that Prince Harry will attend. However, just yesterday word broke that Markle is invited to the reception—but not the ceremony. Previously, it was speculated that Markle would not be invited to the wedding at all.
