Speaking of Prince Harry, the royal commentator said: “The olive branch being extended by the King in his statement, the fact William invited them to Windsor – these are sticking plasters on a great wound that he has had a huge hand in.”
He asked: “Is he [now] really regretting his conduct over the last couple of years?
“I don’t know where they go from here, and I can only see it getting worse because of this book.
“Even if it is a percentage of what we think it’s going to be, it’s going to be even worse for him. I don’t see a way back for him.”

Prince Harry is set to release a detailed memoir of his royal life later this year, with publication “tentatively scheduled” for autumn, although no exact date has been confirmed.
The Duke of Sussex said: “I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a firsthand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”
He said he planned to write the book “not as the Prince I was born but as the man I have become”.
Royal commentators have speculated that the book could cause a further rift between the Duke and the Royal Family if the publication contains criticisms of the institution and its members.

Prince Harry and Meghan extended their visit to the UK following the Queen’s death
For the first time in over two years, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared alongside the Prince and Princess of Wales while greeting crowds of mourners outside Windsor Castle.
Despite his presence within the grieving Royal Family, royal commentators have suggested the mourning period does not mark a shift in relations as Prince Harry’s public return is a temporary result of the extraordinary circumstances.
Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly returned to their home in America following the conclusion of the official mourning period.
