MEGHAN Markle is finding it “frustrating” she is not able to “stand up for herself” amid rumours of a rift with the Duchess of Cambridge, it has been claimed.
The Duchess of Sussex is fed up with not being able to defend herself on social media, according to a royal source. Speaking to US Weekly, the insider said: “It’s just been frustrating and stressful to have no voice.
“She’s always relied on her own voice to stand up for others, and for herself. So not being able to say anything is a debilitating feeling.
“She’s always been so independent, her entire life, and that’s all been taken away from her.
“She’s always been able to clap back on social media and now she can’t.”
Prince Harry and Meghan announced in November they were moving from Kensington Palace – where they are Prince William and Kate’s neighbours – to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor early next year.
The move prompted rumours of tensions between Kate and Meghan, including reports of an upset following Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress fitting and a row over staff.
There have also been claims of Meghan’s “difficult” behaviour.
Ahead of Meghan and Harry’s royal wedding in May, the Queen is said to have pulled her grandson aside for a quiet word about Meghan after he shouted at staff.
Writing in his new biography of Prince Charles, royal author Robert Jobson said: “In the build-up to the wedding, says an inside source, he was ‘petulant and short-tempered’ with members of staff.
“Raising his voice on occasion, Harry would insist: ‘What Meghan wants, she gets.'”
And royal staff reportedly had to decline a request by Meghan to use air fresheners in St George’s Chapel to remove the “musty smell”.
Meghan has also had two key royal aides resign since her Windsor wedding.
Meghan’s personal secretary Samantha Cohen – who has worked for the royals for 17 years – will leave her role next year.
And Meghan’s personal assistant Melissa Touabti resigned from her position after just six months, amid claims she was left “in tears”.
