MEGHAN Markle’s mother Doria Ragland has been spotted shopping at budget retailer Target in Los Angeles, despite her daughter being a member of the royal family.
The Duchess of Sussex’s mother was seen browsing in one of the LA branches of the discount store on Saturday evening. Ms Ragland cut a casual figure as she purchased dog food at the bargain department store which sells home furnishing, beauty products and clothing.
The outing is a far cry from Meghan’s royal life with Prince Harry.
She shocked fellow shoppers in the California store, with one saying: “Target is a middle of the road store and everyone shops there.
“But you don’t expect to see someone connected to the English Royal Family wandering down the aisles.
“Besides myself, I don’t think anyone noticed that it was her.
“She was not bothered at all and went about almost unnoticed.
“She looked like she was just popping in to get some pet food.
“It was definitely cool to see her because we are so far removed from it out here. It is not normal to sight someone from the royal family in Los Angeles.
“I stayed up to watch the wedding and I have watched Meghan on Suits since she started. I’m a big fan of them both.”
Meghan’s mother – who was the only member of her family to attend the royal wedding in May – wore a black top with a pair of trousers tucked into boots for the low-key outing.
Ms Ragland lives in LA where she works as a yoga instructor, but with Meghan due to give birth in the spring she could spend more time in Britain to see her grandchild.
The duchess’s mother already completed a royal engagement with Harry and Meghan last September.
Meghan has been embroiled in a bitter row with other members of her family since her Windsor wedding.
Her father Thomas Markle had been due to walk Meghan down the aisle, but he pulled out at the last minute due to health reasons.
Shortly before the big day it emerged that the 74-year-old who lives in Mexico had staged paparazzi pictures in a bid to improve his public image.
In a series of interviews, Mr Markle has claimed that Meghan has ignored him since her royal wedding.
In his latest appearance on Good Morning Britain, the retired former lighting director appealed to his daughter – who is expecting her first child – to get back in touch.
And Meghan’s half-sister Samantha Markle is reportedly writing an explosive tell-all book about the duchess to be released this year.
